SFJB Announces New Executive Director

We are pleased to announce that Trygve (Tryg) Fredrickson has been appointed as our new Executive Director. He will assume the post on October 8, 2018, succeeding current Executive Director, Robert Joyce. Chair of the Board, Kevin Rovang says: “After conducting a lengthy search, Tryg is clearly an outstanding candidate for this important position in our community. He is a proven leader with a passion for non-profit organizations, who has the experience and energy to lead Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues into the future.”

Tryg Fredrickson has extensive experience in education, business, and non-profit organizations. Most recently he was Principal/CFO for TSP, Inc., and prior to that CEO for the Sioux Empire Fair Association. Tryg has been involved with numerous community organizations, including BOD Chairman for The Butterfly House and Aquarium, Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, and President and Chairman of Governing Board; Graduate Business School Association at USD, to name a few. He has expertise in Strategic Management, Leadership, Financial Management, and Organizational Transition.

With this track record, Tryg is poised to lead Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues to the next level of its’ mission to create awareness in jazz and blues music through musical
events and education. Robert Joyce, will continue to assist in the transition with Tryg and provide ongoing advice and support to the organization.
