JazzFest isn’t just for adults.

JazzFest features the Sanford Children’s JazzQuest, a special area just for kids that features jazz and blues education Sandford Children's JazzQuestactivities, bounce houses, arts and craft projects, face painting, singing and dancing and other fun activities designed especially for elementary through middle school aged children!

JazzFest is proud to again partner with the Washington Pavilion of Arts & Science as they present the “Science of Sound”. They’ll also help kids with make and take musical instruments, a mural painting, bubble mania, rocket launching, and musical movement activities.

Join us for a hands-on demonstration where you can explore the science of sound and music with our science center interactors. Create your own music using the principles of acoustics.

Make and Take Musical Instruments: Get into the action by making your own instruments to play at Jazzfest! The Washington Pavilion will have our outreach team on hand to help you create your own box guitars and rain sticks.

Rocket Launching: Build and launch compressed air rockets and see them soar high into the sky!

Mural Painting: Express your inner artist and paint on a giant canvas.

Mask Making: Celebrate the jazz and blues of New Orleans by making a fancy mask.
