Homegrown favorite Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews is scheduled to appear on “Late Show with David Letterman” on Tuesday, June 22.
Andrews is promoting his national debut on the Verve Forecast label, “Backatown.” On “Backatown,” Andrews and his band stretch out on a polished program of rock, funk and R&B. Lenny Kravitz – Andrews has toured with Kravitz as a member of his horn section – guests on one track, but his influence is evident throughout the record.
“Backatown” has earned favorable reviews from the likes of Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly. The “Letterman” appearance should boost Andrews’ national profile even more.
