The Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues Society announces their annual art contest to bring a fresh look to JazzFest volunteer shirts this year.
The contest will decide the look of the infamous volunteer shirts, worn by over 800 volunteers during the festival. The theme of the design is a quote by the famous jazz trumpeter and singer, Louis Armstrong:
“To Jazz, or not to Jazz. There is no question!”
Competing artists must integrate this idea into the three-color design of the shirt.
The winner of the contest will receive special VIP passes at JazzFest.
Artists are encouraged to work in a variety of mediums with the understanding that their work must be easily converted for screen printing.
JazzFest 2010 will be held July 15-17 at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls, SD.
